Senior Manager, Power Systems

About the role

Radiant is seeking a Senior Manager to lead the design, modeling, and validation of electrical power systems for its portable nuclear microreactor platform. You will head a team of power‑systems and power‑electronics engineers, set technical direction, and ensure safe, stable, and reliable power delivery across grid‑connected, islanded, rapid‑deploy, and space‑based environments.

Key responsibilities

• Build, manage, and grow a team of power‑systems and power‑electronics engineers, including hiring and performance management.
• Define team priorities and roadmaps in partnership with power conversion, controls, nuclear, and software leadership.
• Communicate progress, risks, and results to executive leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Own power‑system architecture, single‑line diagrams, and synchronization strategy for single‑ and multi‑reactor configurations.
• Direct FMEAs and disturbance analyses (load steps, faults, breaker operations, loss‑of‑generation) to validate stability and protection.
• Specify, size, and integrate off‑the‑shelf hardware for energy storage and power conversion.
• Lead in‑house development of converters, inverters, and generator controls for earth and space platforms.
• Oversee SIL/HIL and system‑level testing, commissioning, and regulatory/power‑quality compliance.

Required profile

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in power systems.
