About the role
As a Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis at Cohere, you will lead the creation and maintenance of comprehensive forecasting processes, build scalable financial models, and partner with cross‑functional teams to drive data‑driven decision‑making. You will act as a CFO‑like partner for engineering and other departments, shaping headcount planning, operating expense management, and long‑range strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and maintain departmental forecasting processes with regular variance analysis.
- Build and scale financial models and planning frameworks to support rapid growth.
- Collaborate with department heads to translate business needs into financial requirements.
- Develop and maintain executive‑level financial reporting dashboards.
- Drive process improvements and automation across FP&A workflows.
- Own monthly and quarterly business review processes, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Define, track, and socialize critical SaaS/Tech metrics with engineering, product, and modeling teams.
- Prepare high‑impact materials for Board meetings and C‑suite forums.
Required profile
- 12+ years of progressive experience in Financial Planning & Analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- Deep understanding of GAAP and the interaction between P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Experience building and scaling FP&A functions in high‑growth, ambiguous environments.
Required skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP or Oracle.
- Experience using BI tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting and budgeting capabilities.
