Senior Manager – Mergers & Acquisitions

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis is seeking a Senior Manager to lead its Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) unit within the Supervision Division. In this position you will guide a team of financial analysts and bank examiners, manage complex regulatory applications, and serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and develop a team of seven full‑time professionals, fostering a high‑performing, motivated environment.
• Oversee regulatory application workflows, ensuring compliance with statutory, Federal Reserve System, and Division standards.
• Make timely, well‑informed decisions on complex regulatory matters and prepare high‑quality written correspondence.
• Collaborate with M&A, Supervision, Legal, and Board of Governors staff, and maintain consultative relationships with external attorneys, bankers, and consultants.
• Lead or contribute to Federal Reserve System M&A workgroups, manage the unit’s budget, and drive efficiency through process enhancements and technology adoption.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of banking regulations such as Reg H, Reg Y, and the Bank Merger Act.
• Experience managing professional‑level staff and building effective teams.
• Strong multitasking ability, especially under tight deadlines.
• Proven record of networking with bankers, attorneys, consultants, and peer regulatory agencies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Required skills

• In‑depth understanding of applicable banking regulations.
• Experience with M&A processing practices within a Reserve Bank (preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
