Senior Manager, Master Data Management & Reference Data

About the role

Amgen is looking for an experienced data management leader with biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience to advance enterprise Master Data Management (MDM), Reference Data and Data Governance capabilities. The role translates business priorities into scalable data capabilities, establishes enterprise data standards and leads cross-functional delivery across business and technology teams.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the data engagement lead for an assigned business function, delivering measurable data improvements
• Co-develop and execute the enterprise MDM and Reference Data roadmaps aligned with business priorities
• Lead MDM and Reference Data initiatives across customer, product, supplier, material, study and organizational data
• Establish governance processes, data standards, stewardship responsibilities and quality controls
• Lead implementation and enhancement of Reltio MDM capabilities (onboarding, matching, survivorship, hierarchy, workflows, integrations)
• Lead implementation and enhancement of enterprise Reference Data capabilities
• Advance semantic and terminology management with platforms such as SciBite or TopQuadrant
• Partner with business teams, Data Governance, Architecture and Data Engineering to deliver compliant data solutions
• Lead internal delivery teams and external partners, reporting progress and risks to senior leadership

Required profile

• Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience, with knowledge of regulated business processes, data standards and compliance
• Experience leading complex, cross-functional data initiatives
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
• Preferred: experience managing external partners and geographically distributed delivery teams, articulating business value of data investments, and knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management and FAIR data principles
• Education: doctorate with 2 years of Information Systems experience, master's with 6 years, bachelor's with 8 years, or associate degree with 10 years of Information Systems experience
