Senior Manager, Engineering - Identity & Access Management

About the role

ClickUp is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead its Identity & Access Management (IAM) Platform team. This role is responsible for delivering an enterprise‑grade access management platform and building a high‑performing engineering team in an AI‑native environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, hire, mentor, and scale the IAM Platform engineering team.
• Own delivery of the authorization engine, permission/role model, authentication (SSO, MFA, SCIM, OIDC), audit logs, and related APIs.
• Set roadmap and priorities in partnership with product, security, and engineering leadership.
• Run an AI‑native team: structure work for AI agents, automate reporting, and eliminate status‑meeting noise.
• Partner with enterprise customers, GTM, and security teams on access‑control requirements and represent ClickUp in security reviews.
• Maintain operational excellence: on‑call rotation, safe migrations, reliability, and clear security boundaries.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building SaaS products, with 3+ years managing engineering teams.
• Hands‑on experience delivering authentication and authorization systems (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, JWT, MFA/2FA, enterprise SSO, SCIM, RBAC/ABAC) in a multi‑tenant environment.
• Proven ability to use AI tools and agentic workflows to automate reporting, triage, and status updates.
• Experience delivering enterprise‑grade SaaS at scale and working directly with enterprise security and compliance requirements.
• Strong technical depth to lead architecture discussions and make trade‑offs for high‑blast‑radius systems.
