Senior Litigation Paralegal

About the role

Our client, a nationally recognized criminal and civil trial boutique in Manhattan, is seeking a Senior Litigation Paralegal to support four full‑time attorneys and mentor a junior paralegal. This on‑site role will involve managing the full lifecycle of complex federal and state cases, including a major trial slated for early 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and organize case files from inception through trial and post‑trial, maintaining pleadings, discovery, correspondence, expert reports, and exhibits.
• Prepare, proofread, and edit legal documents such as motions, briefs, affidavits, and sentencing memoranda, ensuring Bluebook compliance.
• Coordinate discovery responses, document productions, interrogatories, and large‑scale document review.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and PACER, and draft research summaries and charts.
• Support trial preparation by assembling exhibits, witness lists, and other trial materials, and assist on‑site during the trial.
• Maintain electronic document databases, track case timelines, calendars, and deadlines, and ensure timely e‑filing in state and federal courts.

Required profile

• Several years of experience as a litigation paralegal in a high‑stakes trial environment.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor junior staff.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
