About the role
Law360, a LexisNexis company, is looking for a senior reporter to cover the legal industry in California, focusing on the rapid adoption of legal technology and artificial intelligence. The role can be based in either San Francisco or Los Angeles and involves breaking news, trend spotting, and in‑depth feature writing.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, investigate and publish breaking news on legal tech, AI tools, and regulatory developments affecting law firms, courts and corporate counsel.
- Develop and maintain a network of sources across law firms, startups, investors, academia and government agencies.
- Produce quick‑turn stories on major industry events and longer, enterprise‑level features that contextualize technological shifts.
- Collaborate with editors and multimedia teams to ensure accurate, compelling coverage across Law360’s platforms.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a journalist covering technology, business, or legal sectors.
- Strong news judgment and a track record of generating exclusive stories.
- Deep curiosity about generative AI, legal tech ecosystems and their impact on the practice of law.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced newsroom and meet tight deadlines.
