Senior Lab Technician, 2nd Shift

About the role

Moog’s Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Senior Lab Technician to work the 2nd shift (2:00 pm‑10:30 pm) in Torrance, CA. You will serve as a technical resource for environmental and functional testing of aircraft hardware, independently setting up and conducting tests while supporting engineers and other technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and execute mechanical, electronic, and environmental tests according to written procedures.
• Review test specifications, inspect setups for safety and compliance, and monitor critical parameters during testing.
• Maintain detailed test logs, collect and analyze data, and prepare technical reports and data summaries.
• Investigate test anomalies, apply technical judgment, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support test planning, readiness reviews, procedure reviews, and post‑test activities.
• Train and mentor junior technicians on test setup, safety, documentation, and equipment use.

Required profile

• Engineering or related technical degree, or equivalent experience, with at least eight years as a test technician.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, test specifications, and technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently on 2nd‑shift hours and occasional overtime/weekend support.

Required skills

• Proficiency with test instruments, data‑acquisition systems, and laboratory equipment.
• Hands‑on experience with LabVIEW, NI DIAdem, dSPACE, Dewesoft, or MATLAB for data acquisition and analysis.
• Familiarity with environmental chambers, multichannel oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, milliohm meters, dielectric testers, torque tools, and thermocouples.
• Experience testing to aerospace standards such as RTCA DO‑160 and MIL‑STD‑810.
