About the role
Under general supervision, the Senior IT Business Analyst analyzes customer business needs and participates in the planning, design, and implementation of new or enhanced systems for the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL). The role serves as the primary subject‑matter expert for the KOALA application, supporting internal teams and external vendors.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure KOALA application functionality, requirements, and industry standards are accurately defined and implemented.
- Coordinate KOALA maintenance and support activities, representing agency interests.
- Develop detailed business requirements and system documentation.
- Create KOALA user training materials, including screenshots and guidance.
- Develop and execute test plans; support user acceptance testing and data preparation.
- Participate in KOALA enhancement projects through the full project lifecycle.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong self‑starter who can work independently and communicate effectively with CCS and Legal staff.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong command of English grammar.
