Senior Industrial Engineer – Industrial Engineering Lead

About the role

Tata Technologies is seeking a seasoned Senior Industrial Engineer to lead engineering initiatives in a low‑volume, high‑mix manufacturing environment. The role focuses on driving throughput, productivity, and operational efficiency while partnering closely with plant leadership and production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects that increase plant throughput and overall production output.
• Analyze performance data to pinpoint capacity constraints and develop corrective actions.
• Conduct time studies, method studies, and work‑measurement activities.
• Create and maintain standard work, labor benchmarks, and line‑balancing plans.
• Perform bottleneck analysis, capacity planning, and value‑stream mapping.
• Champion Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives to eliminate waste.
• Improve workstation design, material flow, and operator efficiency.
• Develop scalable processes that support future growth and flexibility.
• Collaborate with production, quality, logistics, and engineering teams.
• Support digital manufacturing and simulation‑based optimization projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, or Automotive Engineering.
• 8–10 years of industrial engineering experience, including at least 5 years in low‑volume, high‑mix settings.
• Proven record of improving throughput and productivity.
• Experience in truck, heavy‑equipment, agricultural, or specialty vehicle manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving, data‑driven decision‑making, and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Capacity and bottleneck analysis.
• Value‑stream mapping (VSM).
• Plant layout and process‑flow optimization.
• Lean tools: Kaizen, 5S, SMED, visual management, waste elimination.
• Theory of Constraints (TOC), ergonomics, safety standards.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office.
• MOST / MODAPTS (preferred).
• Simulation tools such as Proplanner or Plant Simulation.
• MS Project and AutoCAD (added advantages).
