Senior Financial Counseling Specialist – Transplant

About the role

The Senior Financial Counseling Specialist – Transplant evaluates financial coverage for patients being considered for solid organ transplant, verifies insurance benefits, obtains pre‑authorizations, and educates patients, families, and caregivers on the financial requirements throughout the pre‑ and post‑operative periods.

Key responsibilities

• Perform thorough financial screening of eligible transplant referrals using tools developed by Transplant Financial Coordinators.
• Research, verify, and document patient insurance coverage and related financial information.
• Meet with transplant candidates, families, and caregivers in outpatient or inpatient settings to review financial aspects of the transplant.
• Ensure all required authorizations and referrals are obtained prior to services being rendered.
• Serve as a resource on insurance and financial matters, assisting patients before and after transplant.
• Collaborate with the transplant team to address financial gaps and identify alternative funding options.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or a related field with at least three years of healthcare revenue‑cycle experience (or a high school diploma/GED with seven years of comparable experience).
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
