Senior Field Service Technician – Gas Compression

About the role

The Senior Field Service Technician (AMS) supports Enerflex’s gas compression packages by performing advanced maintenance, installations, and overhauls. The role requires independent troubleshooting of engine, compressor, and electrical systems while delivering exceptional customer service on field sites.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute rebuilds, overhauls, and new equipment installations of gas‑fired and electric‑driven compressor packages under adverse conditions.
• Diagnose and repair engine and compressor failures, troubleshoot advanced electrical controls (Murphy, Altronic, Allen Bradley), and perform engine tuning for CAT and Waukesha OEMs.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to new and junior field technicians.
• Submit accurate daily field service reports, expense reports, and timesheets.
• Participate in on‑call rotation to address emergency repairs and recurring issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with advanced vocational/technical training.
• 10+ years of relevant field service experience on gas compression equipment.
• Current certifications for CAT/Waukesha models (e.g., CAT Gas I & II, CAT Electrical, CAT 3500 ADEM III, Waukesha VHP, etc.).
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 75 lb occasionally, and work in hot, cold, rainy or muddy environments while wearing required PPE.

Required skills

• Engine and compressor diagnostics.
• Advanced electrical troubleshooting and control panel repair (Murphy, Altronic, Allen Bradley).
• Engine tuning and emissions adjustment for CAT and Waukesha units.
• Mechanical inspection using micrometers, pressure gauges, and electronic diagnostic equipment.
