Senior Field Medic

About the role

The Senior Field Medic delivers basic and advanced life‑support care to ill or injured staff and students at the Brayton Fire Training Field and other designated locations. This position provides critical medical assessment, treatment, and coordination in both training and operational environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, maintain accurate medical records, and complete patient care reports following established protocols.
• Manage medical inventory, sanitize and maintain equipment, and test gas detection devices.
• Support field safety operations by enforcing seat‑belt use, speed limits, and conducting safety inspections, work‑permit issuance, and audits.
• Maintain a clean, organized treatment area and field medic office.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least two years of experience in a high‑volume city or county 911 EMS system as a released or in‑charge EMT‑Paramedic or Licensed Paramedic.
• Valid motor‑vehicle operator’s license (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Current TDSHS EMT‑Paramedic or Licensed Paramedic certification.
