Senior Factory Operative

About the role

Greencore is seeking a Senior Factory Operative to join its Boston site, where a team of around 400 produces ready‑to‑eat salads, prepared vegetables and snacks for major retailers. You will play a key part in running the production line, ensuring efficient, safe and high‑quality output.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machinery to maintain smooth processes.
• Prepare and handle ingredients, materials and finished products safely.
• Support the line to meet daily production targets and deadlines.
• Perform quality checks and complete required production and safety paperwork.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic working environment and follow all health, safety and food‑safety procedures.
• Train and mentor new operatives, sharing knowledge of machinery and line processes.
• Assist colleagues and collaborate as part of a team.

Required profile

• Previous experience in food manufacturing, preferably with salads or fresh produce.
• Experience operating or supervising production machinery or lines.
• Good verbal, written and numerical communication skills.
• Flexible approach to shift patterns (A and B shifts, 3’s and 2’s, 6 am‑6 pm).
