Senior Expert Engineer – Industrial Services (Refrigeration)

About the role

As a Senior Expert Engineer Industrial Services (Refrigeration) you will provide advanced technical leadership for refrigeration, cooling, hygienic air handling and related utility systems across Nestlé and Nestlé Purina factories in North America. You will partner with factory and project teams to translate complex technical requirements into clear, actionable solutions that are safe, reliable, energy‑efficient and aligned with business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as trusted technical partner for industrial refrigeration (ammonia and CO₂), cooling, and hygienic air handling systems.
• Lead problem definition and resolution for complex or recurring refrigeration issues.
• Develop and maintain standards, URS templates, design guides, equipment technology standards and technical playbooks.
• Provide technical leadership for capital projects from concept through handover and sustainment.
• Integrate safety, food‑safety, process‑safety and risk‑management requirements into engineering decisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, energy use, heat recovery, natural refrigerants and lifecycle cost.
• Coach engineers and factory teams, create learning materials and facilitate expert networks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years progressive engineering experience in refrigeration, utilities, capital projects or sustainability within a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to travel 30‑50% of the time.
