Senior Estimator

About the role

C.A.C. Industries is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join its full‑time team in Long Island City, Queens, NY. You will work closely with the Chief Estimator and cross‑functional teams to develop competitive bids for heavy civil projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and develop accurate bid pricing for heavy civil projects.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda to understand project scope.
• Build, maintain, and update labor, material, and equipment cost data (HCSS).
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor quotations.
• Develop pricing for bids, alternates, and change orders.
• Review estimates for constructability, risk, and value‑engineering opportunities.
• Support and lead proposal submissions, including design‑build pursuits.
• Develop and manage bid schedules, ensuring all milestones are met.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years heavy civil estimating experience and 7+ years overall construction experience.
• Strong understanding of contracts, bid processes, and insurance requirements.
• Experience bidding with NYC agencies and within the tri‑state market.
• Design‑build experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with HCSS software.
• Experience with Bluebeam.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with B2W software.
