Senior Engineering Technician

About the role

Radiant is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to join its El Segundo headquarters and help build, test, and commission portable nuclear micro‑reactor prototypes. You will work hands‑on in a fast‑paced shop environment, using a wide range of fabrication tools to turn engineering prints into functional hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate parts to print using mill, lathe, welders, metal‑forming tools and hand tools.
• Assemble and commission test rigs and production builds for micro‑reactor units.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, thermal and pneumatic issues and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve hardware design, fabrication processes and assembly methods.
• Maintain high standards of safety, cleanliness and operational reliability in the shop.
• Support the setup and maintenance of the prototype shop, including material handling and tooling procurement.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of hands‑on fabrication or assembly experience.
• Positive attitude, strong teamwork skills and ability to work independently.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
