Senior Electrical Engineer – R & D Engineering

About the role

ETAP is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its R&D team in Irvine. You will work on cutting‑edge power system modeling and software development, helping customers transition to smarter, greener energy solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Research, design, write specifications and build prototypes for power system modeling.
• Develop and maintain simulation software within the ETAP environment.
• Provide technical support for marketing workshops and customer demonstrations.
• Lead engineering service projects and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in power system modeling and analysis.
• Strong ability to research, design, and test power system simulation models.
• Familiarity with industrial standards and specification writing.
• MS or PhD in Power System Engineering, Electrical Engineering (MS in Computer Science is a plus).

Required skills

• Microsoft Visual C++ (preferred for simulation software development).
• Power system modeling and simulation.
• Knowledge of electrical machines and power electronics.
• Experience with electric power system analysis tools.
