Senior Development Officer – Foundations

About the role

Medecins Sans Frontieres USA is seeking a Senior Development Officer to lead its Foundations fundraising strategy. Reporting to the Director of Foundations and Corporate Partnerships, you will join the leadership team and drive revenue growth from US‑based professional foundations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, oversee, and execute a comprehensive strategy to secure funding from professional foundations.
• Manage a personal portfolio of high‑value foundation donors, cultivating relationships and developing proposals aligned with MSF priorities.
• Coordinate with program, communications, legal, finance, and field teams to identify and secure new or renewed funding.
• Supervise the Sr. Associate, Foundations and the Development Officer for Foundations.
• Lead prospecting initiatives to expand the donor base and create long‑term value for the organization.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in nonprofit fundraising, preferably with foundations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex donor relationships and lead a small team.
• Strong understanding of humanitarian or international development contexts.
