Senior Data Scientist – Games Portfolio

About the role

Netflix is looking for an experienced Data Scientist (L6) to lead the technical strategy for the Games Portfolio team. You will shape the metrics ecosystem, drive forecasting research, and translate audience insights into actionable decisions that guide investment and content scheduling.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the technical vision for forecasting, metrics, audience insights, and transmedia research.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain robust, interpretable models for pre‑launch and post‑launch forecasting.
• Empower the team to manage the metrics ecosystem and deliver data‑driven insights.
• Mentor and guide technical contributors, ensuring high‑quality data products.
• Collaborate with Games leadership, Finance, Strategy, Engineering, and other DSE teams as a strategic technical partner.
• Synthesize deep technical findings into clear recommendations for senior executives.
• Identify high‑impact research opportunities and build data‑driven cases for resource allocation.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of experience in data science or machine learning, with a track record of leading large, complex projects.
• Proven experience as a technical lead, overseeing architecture, quality, and roadmap for data‑science products.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical insights for non‑technical stakeholders.
