Senior Data & Platform Engineer

About the role

Avantos is building an AI‑native operating system for financial services. We are looking for a Senior Data & Platform Engineer to design and own the data and core platform that powers our AI‑driven products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend systems and integrations that enable product functionality.
• Build and maintain the data platform, including orchestration, pipelines, and developer workflows.
• Create scalable data ingestion, transformation, and access services.
• Define robust data models, APIs, schemas, indexes and migration strategies.
• Own the infrastructure for data and AI workloads using containers, orchestration and cloud services.
• Enable self‑serve data workflows for engineering and product teams.
• Improve observability, reliability and performance across the data stack.
• Support AI/ML pipelines, embeddings, vector data and related tooling.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering or backend infrastructure.
• Proven track record of shipping and operating production systems at scale.
• Strong systems‑thinking mindset with a platform‑first approach.
• Experience designing backend services, APIs and relational data models.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving startup environment.
