Senior Data Engineer – AI‑Native Platform

About the role

Plug is building an AI‑native marketplace for used electric vehicles. As a Senior Data Engineer you will create the governed data layer that powers our pricing models, partner feeds, and AI agents.

Key responsibilities

• Own the dbt transformation layer, including staging, intermediate, and mart models, and define MetricFlow metrics in the Semantic Layer.
• Design, implement, and maintain ingestion pipelines using Fivetran and HubSpot, and onboard new data sources such as OEM partner APIs, dealer marketing feeds, auction signals, and attribution data.
• Ensure data quality, governance, monitoring, and change‑control across all pipelines.
• Collaborate with ML engineers, data scientists, and product teams to provide reliable data for the Rain Radar EV pricing model.
• Document data models, pipelines, and business metrics for cross‑functional consumption.

Required profile

• Several years of experience building and operating modern data platforms.
• Strong expertise in Snowflake, dbt, and SQL‑based data modeling.
• Hands‑on experience with Fivetran, HubSpot integrations, and API‑driven data ingestion.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced startup environment and partner with engineering and product stakeholders.
• Solid understanding of data governance and metric definition best practices.
