Senior Cultural Resources Project Manager

About the role

The Senior Cultural Resources Project Manager leads archaeological and historic resource projects across Arizona and neighboring states, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while delivering high‑quality client deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project budgets, staffing, invoicing and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Oversee multiple field projects, coordinating mobilization, data collection QA/QC, and timely completion.
• Produce reports and deliverables that meet agency, SHPO/THPO, and NEPA standards.
• Mentor junior staff, review deliverables, and support business development activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience with Class III archaeological surveys, monitoring and testing in the Southwest.
• Master’s degree in Archaeology or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large‑scale surveys, budgets and client communications.
• Willingness to travel, work irregular hours and perform fieldwork in rugged, inclement conditions.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat and Outlook.
• Experience using GIS and mapping tools for cultural resource projects.
• Strong technical writing skills for Class I and Class III reports.
• Knowledge of Section 106, Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act and related permitting processes.
