About the role
ERCOT is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Legal Department as a Senior Corporate Counsel focused on regulatory matters. The role supports ERCOT’s mission as the independent system operator for the majority of Texas, providing legal guidance on regulatory, legislative, and judicial issues that affect the power grid and wholesale market.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support on all regulatory matters affecting ERCOT.
- Represent ERCOT in regulatory, legislative, and judicial proceedings.
- Monitor and analyze evolving regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, policies, and compliance documents.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with ERCOT’s strategic objectives.
Required profile
- Law degree and active bar membership.
- Significant experience in energy regulation and corporate law.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Interest in supporting ERCOT’s critical role in Texas’ power system.
