Senior Corporate Counsel – Construction & Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel to join our in‑house legal team supporting a global engineering and construction firm. The role partners with senior business leaders on high‑value, complex projects across design, engineering, and construction, reporting directly to the General Counsel.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate and draft construction, design, EPC, labor, subcontractor, vendor, safety and operational agreements.
• Provide legal advice to operational and functional leaders across the business.
• Manage commercial disputes, including claims, mediation, arbitration, and litigation, coordinating with insurers and outside counsel.
• Oversee employment and labor‑related disputes and claims.
• Advise on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, insurance, leasing, and collections.
• Support enterprise risk management, compliance initiatives, and policy interpretation with HR and Compliance.
• Assist with IP, software, technology matters, and contribute to M&A, financing, and other corporate transactions.

Required profile

• J.D. and active law license in Texas or another approved jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in construction, engineering, or related industries.
• Proven ability to handle high‑pressure situations with sound commercial judgment.
• Self‑starter who builds trust across departments and owns complex matters from start to finish.
