Senior Composites Design Engineer

About the role

BETA Technologies is seeking a Senior Composites Design Engineer to develop primary and secondary composite structures for an advanced narrow‑body electric aircraft. The role blends conceptual design, analysis, material selection, and producibility considerations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3‑D composite concepts for skins, spars, ribs, frames, panels, control surfaces, fairings and integrated joints.
• Perform laminate, sandwich, bonded‑joint and bolted‑joint trade studies to size and configure structures.
• Select materials, processes, tooling and inspection strategies aligned with production goals.
• Define composite‑metal interfaces, environmental protection, lightning‑protection, damage‑tolerance and repair features.
• Collaborate with stress, structures, loads, manufacturing, quality, NDT, test teams and suppliers.
• Support test planning and translate results into design improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or related engineering.
• 5+ years of composite structural design or aerospace product‑development experience.
• US Person status.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CATIA or 3DEXPERIENCE CAD environments.
• Knowledge of prepreg, infusion, sandwich construction, bonded and bolted joints, composite failure modes and manufacturing controls.
