Senior Compiler Engineer

About the role

DataPelago is building a next‑generation data processing engine that runs on CPUs, GPUs and FPGAs. As a Senior Compiler Engineer you will lead the design and implementation of the compilers that translate logical and physical plans into high‑performance executable code.

Key responsibilities

• Architect the translation of logical and physical plans into efficient code for CPU, GPU and FPGA.
• Design and implement functional and performance enhancements for the engine’s compilers.
• Develop, test, optimize, and maintain compiler components.
• Analyze hardware advances from Nvidia, AMD, Intel and identify integration opportunities.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams on language specifications and compliance.
• Promote best practices in code review, testing, CI/CD and issue resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 7+ years experience, or Master’s with 5+ years.
• 5+ years of production‑quality compiler development experience.
• Strong analytical skills and passion for performance optimization.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of GCC, LLVM, MLIR and compiler internals.
• Experience with parsing tools such as flex, yacc or ANTLR.
• Proficiency in C, C++ (Rust preferred).
• Extensive Linux development experience.
• Familiarity with auto‑vectorization and data‑parallel architectures.
