Senior Commercial Counsel

About the role

Rescale is expanding its digital engineering platform and needs a senior legal professional to lead commercial contracting. You will be the primary legal point‑of‑contact for the go‑to‑market team, handling SaaS agreements, DPAs, partner contracts and more.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate SaaS customer agreements, order forms, DPAs, partner and channel agreements, vendor contracts and NDAs.
• Run deals end‑to‑end, coordinating finance, security, product and engineering as needed.
• Maintain and evolve the legal toolkit – templates, playbooks and self‑service paths for routine contracts.
• Design and implement AI‑assisted contract intake, review and drafting workflows.
• Train GTM and cross‑functional teams to embed sound legal judgment early in the process.

Required profile

• J.D. and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of commercial transactional experience, with deep expertise in SaaS and technology agreements.
• Proven ability to close commercial deals independently.
• Strong legal‑operations mindset, focused on process, templates and automation.
• Excellent business judgment and clear communication skills.
• Fluency with privacy requirements, DPAs and cross‑border data transfer obligations.

Required skills

• Experience building or improving contracting processes and automation.
• Familiarity with AI‑enabled legal tools and contract review automation.
