Senior Buyer

About the role

Saronic Technologies is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead sourcing, procurement, and supplier management for autonomous surface vessels supporting the Department of Defense. You will ensure timely delivery of high‑quality materials while driving cost efficiency and compliance with defense regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance and addressing issues.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability.
• Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts to achieve cost‑effective agreements.
• Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to uncover savings opportunities.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production to meet schedules.
• Identify supply‑chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with government regulations and defense contract standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and logistics teams to align on project goals.
• Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• Proven experience in procurement and supplier management, preferably in defense or maritime industries.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Familiarity with government procurement regulations (e.g., FAR, DFAR) is a plus.
• Proficiency with procurement software and tools.
