Senior Business Analyst - Medicaid

About the role

Gainwell is seeking a Senior Business Analyst focused on Medicaid to help clients improve health outcomes for vulnerable populations. You will bridge business needs with technology solutions, mentor junior analysts, and support project delivery across a range of IT initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate business analyst activities on IT projects and mentor newer team members.
• Gather, document, and communicate business requirements with clients, project managers, and technical teams.
• Analyze, design, and recommend improvements to business processes supporting client technology goals.
• Validate requirements through testing review, data analysis, and impact quantification.
• Partner with project managers on planning, status reporting, risk tracking, and stakeholder communications.

Required profile

• 6+ years of business analysis experience, with at least 3 years in Medicaid/Medicare.
• Strong understanding of technology delivery concepts, system configuration, and data interfaces.
• Experience supporting project management activities such as planning, risk management, and status reporting.
• Excellent client communication and executive presence.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• SQL – ability to write and execute basic queries for analysis and validation.
• Microsoft Excel – advanced proficiency for data analysis.
• Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) platforms – experience with requirements‑management tools.
