Senior Budget Analyst

About the role

The Senior Budget Analyst will oversee all financial management functions for the LCCC Cancer Prevention and Control Program and Experimental Therapeutics at Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. This includes budgeting, variance reporting, and acting as the administrative liaison for federal, state, and corporate funding sources.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual budgets, modifications, and monthly variance reports for multiple funding categories.
• Manage accruals, journal entries, cost transfers, and invoice tracking.
• Coordinate effort reporting, purchasing, and work with SPFO and JORA on award close‑outs and spend analysis.
• Assist faculty with analysis, management, and reconciliation of work tags and subcontracts.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the Office of Sponsored Research, JORA, Sponsored Accounting, Payroll, Budget, Purchasing, and Contracts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Minimum three years of progressive finance or budgeting experience, preferably in research administration.
• Strong knowledge of federal regulations and OMB Circulars A‑21, A‑110, and A‑133.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
