Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Posh is building a platform that reconnects people through real‑world communities. As a Senior Backend Engineer you will own and evolve the services that power this ecosystem, delivering reliable APIs and data pipelines for event organizers and attendees.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production‑grade backend services and APIs.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership from architecture through deployment and on‑call support.
• Address performance and reliability challenges as traffic scales.
• Instrument systems for observability and embed security from day one.
• Build data models and pipelines that provide actionable insights for the business.
• Participate in design and code reviews across teams.
• Mentor junior engineers through pairing, feedback, and code reviews.
• Contribute to technical interviews and hiring decisions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience delivering production systems.
• Deep understanding of APIs, data modeling, distributed and event‑driven architectures.
• Hands‑on experience scaling live services and handling load‑related regressions.
• Pragmatic decision‑making with clear communication of trade‑offs.
