Senior Associate/VP – Industrials Investment Banking (NY)

About the role

Santander is seeking a Senior Associate or Vice President to join its Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) team in New York, focusing on the Industrials sector. You will support senior bankers, manage deal execution, and serve as a primary client liaison.

Key responsibilities

• Provide coverage and execution support to senior bankers.
• Manage deal teams, monitor transaction progress, and act as the day‑to‑day client contact.
• Liaise with internal product partners and external advisors such as lawyers and accountants.
• Oversee creation of financial models, valuation analyses, and marketing materials, collaborating with associates and analysts.
• Support campus recruiting and mentor junior team members.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal risk controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of front‑office investment banking experience.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of corporate finance, accounting concepts, and investment banking products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Highly quantitative and analytical, with expertise in Excel modeling and valuation work.
• Ability to synthesize large data sets and create impactful client presentations.
• Proven capability to manage teams and perform under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Professional client interaction skills.
