Senior Associate – State and Local Tax (Remote Option)

About the role

KPMG is seeking a Senior Associate to join its State and Local Tax (SALT) practice, supporting multi‑state companies with tax compliance and advisory services. The role offers a collaborative, future‑forward environment with access to deep industry knowledge and cutting‑edge technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Support multi‑state companies with state and local income tax compliance.
• Assist clients on tax issues related to state and local income and franchise taxes.
• Review state income and franchise tax estimated payments, extensions, and tax returns.
• Help handle notices received from state tax authorities.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of recent experience preparing and/or reviewing state income tax returns.
• Masters degree preferred; Bachelors with CPA eligibility or JD/LLM acceptable; CPA certification a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication, relationship‑building, and tax research abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a high‑energy team environment.
