About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a Senior Architect to lead the architectural aspects of construction projects on its Coral Gables campus. The role involves overseeing design, coordination, and implementation of both interior and exterior elements while ensuring compliance with university standards and sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate initial project requests and develop scope, fees, and estimates with design consultants.
• Prepare architectural plans, specifications, and coordinate material selections.
• Oversee project coordination with construction teams, including aesthetic reviews and interior‑exterior design.
• Inspect structures in the field and ensure compliance with university building standards and paint palette.
• Manage interior design guidelines, signage standards, and green building policies.
• Assist project managers with permitting processes and safeguard university assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field (or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant architectural experience.
• Relevant professional certification or licensing.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize under pressure, and commitment to university core values.
