Senior Application Development Specialist

About the role

Santander is seeking a Senior Application Development Specialist to design, build, and maintain software solutions for its auto lending and consumer finance origination platforms. The role combines hands‑on coding with system administration and collaboration across multiple business units.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications within the auto lending/consumer finance domain.
• Leverage AI‑driven development tools to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Configure, administer, and support existing systems, ensuring changes are planned, executed, and verified.
• Analyze and deploy hardware/software updates and patch‑management directives.
• Respond to user inquiries, troubleshoot incidents, and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Collaborate with business analysts, systems analysts, and stakeholders to translate user stories into technical solutions.
• Provide guidance and training to less‑experienced IT specialists.
• Contribute to IT policy implementation, documentation, and reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing and supporting enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with auto lending or consumer finance origination processes.
• Ability to work in a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment with rigorous change‑management procedures.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and willingness to assist on special projects.
