Senior Aircraft Avionics Technician – Contract

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Senior Aircraft Avionics Technician to join the New Helicopter Completions team in Columbus, Mississippi. This temporary contract position involves assembling, installing, repairing, and testing aircraft electrical and electronic systems for both military and civil helicopters.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain close coordination with the lead person regarding schedules, priorities, parts availability, and special instructions.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, vendor and service manuals to determine dimensions, alignments, tolerances and other specifications.
• Utilize standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices and test equipment to complete assignments.
• Ensure all work complies with FAA regulations, customer requirements and company specifications.

Required profile

• Minimum six years of experience working on avionics in aircraft, preferably rotorcraft.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and apply standard shop practices.
• Current A&P license is a plus.
• Must be able to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Required skills

• Avionics systems troubleshooting and repair.
• Installation and maintenance of aircraft electrical/electronic components.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices and test equipment.
• Blueprint and schematic reading.
