Senior Accountant

About the role

This senior accountant position supports a fast‑paced, mission‑driven healthcare technology company in the United States. The role focuses on strengthening month‑end close processes, ensuring US GAAP and SOX compliance, and improving accounting workflows across a high‑volume organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead key components of the month‑end close, including preparation and posting of journal entries for balance‑sheet and expense accounts, recurring accruals and adjustments.
• Maintain and review balance‑sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Perform detailed variance analysis on monthly results and provide actionable insights to business partners.
• Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve discrepancies, improve workflows, and strengthen internal controls.
• Support audit readiness by assisting with internal, interim, and year‑end audit deliverables.
• Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, scalability, and accuracy.
• Assist with M&A‑related accounting activities and ad‑hoc financial analysis.
• Cross‑train with other accounting team members to ensure continuity during close cycles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant corporate accounting experience, preferably in a high‑volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Excel (including pivot tables).
• Google Sheets.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems – NetSuite preferred.
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable tools – Coupa preferred.
• Understanding of accrual accounting processes.
