Security Technician

About the role

The Security Technician will install, repair, and service commercial security, access control, and video surveillance systems. The role requires hands‑on work, occasional travel, and on‑call availability to meet customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in security system installations, including cabling and field hardware for access control, alarm, and video surveillance.
• Terminate Category 5, 5e, and 6 cables and install various multimedia cable types.
• Assist with programming, servicing, and troubleshooting of alarm, access control, and video surveillance systems.
• Maintain accurate records of time and materials for each job.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and ability to travel as needed.
• Physical ability to climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and safely operate scissors and articulated lifts.
• Capability to work independently with minimal supervision while delivering excellent customer service.

Required skills

• Knowledge of alarm systems, access control, and video surveillance hardware.
• Understanding of low‑voltage AC/DC power, multimeter testing, and diagnostic troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and Wisconsin building codes.
• TCP/IP networking knowledge and experience installing Category 5/5e/6 cabling.
