Security Officer – Rush Shift

About the role

The Security Officer provides safety and protection for patients, guests, and employees at Ochsner facilities in the Meridian region. This position involves patrolling the campus, enforcing policies, and responding to emergencies in a courteous and professional manner.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce all safety and security rules, conduct routine inspections of on‑site and off‑site locations, and perform building lockdowns as directed.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, document occurrences promptly, and participate in emergency response drills.
• Maintain required certifications, adapt interactions to diverse patient populations, and stay current on relevant laws and regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience in security, law enforcement, or the military.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and CPI/firearms training.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English and to continuously patrol the entire facility, including multi‑floor areas.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency for data entry and retrieval, including Windows‑style applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication for clear reporting and interaction with staff and visitors.
