Security Engineer

About the role

SimSpace provides an AI‑driven cyber‑range where organizations train, test and validate defenses against sophisticated threats. As a Security Engineer you will join the Security Operations Center to monitor, investigate and improve the organization’s security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, triage and respond to alerts across endpoint, network, identity and cloud platforms, escalating high‑impact incidents.
• Conduct threat‑analysis and hunting activities using telemetry, logs and network traffic to uncover indicators of compromise.
• Develop, test and tune SIEM detection rules and correlation logic to reduce false positives.
• Administer security tools such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS and ensure their effective integration.
• Support vulnerability scanning, analysis, prioritisation and remediation across systems and applications.

Required profile

• Strong bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish for written, virtual and in‑person communication.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related field with 2‑4 years of information‑security experience.
• Solid understanding of security fundamentals, network protocols and operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS technologies.
• Python, PowerShell, Bash scripting.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
• MITRE ATT&CK framework and NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
• ISO/IEC 27001 and related compliance standards.
