Security Engineer – Incident Response

About the role

Replit is seeking a Security Engineer with deep incident response experience to protect its fast‑moving, cloud‑native AI coding platform. You will lead investigations from the first signal to root cause, coordinate containment across Security, SRE, and Engineering, and keep stakeholders informed during high‑velocity incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as incident commander or technical lead for security incidents, managing detection, triage, containment, eradication, recovery, and post‑incident review.
• Coordinate response across Security, SRE, Engineering, Legal, and leadership, making decisions under pressure and documenting actions.
• Investigate suspicious activity across cloud infrastructure, containers, identity systems, and applications using SIEM, cloud logs, and host/container artifacts.
• Build scripts, automations, and tools (Python, Go, Bash) to accelerate triage, evidence collection, credential revocation, and workload isolation.
• Develop and maintain response playbooks, integrate workflows with SIEM, SOAR, ticketing, and chat tools.
• Turn incident findings into new detections, logging coverage, and platform hardening; lead blameless post‑incident reviews and remediation.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading security incidents in a cloud or SaaS environment.
• Strong hands‑on investigation skills with SIEM, cloud audit logs, and large‑scale data analysis.
• Production‑quality scripting ability in Python, Go, or Bash.
• Solid knowledge of Google Cloud Platform architecture, IAM, audit logging, GKE, and networking.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and cloud attack paths.
