Sector Analyst – Alternative Data

About the role

Join Point72’s Market Intelligence team as a Sector Analyst focused on alternative data. You will work closely with investment professionals and the compliance team to turn raw data into actionable insights that support investment decisions across a range of industries.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret alternative data from multiple sources to develop expertise on industry themes and key performance indicators.
• Produce research deliverables for internal consumption, including written reports, presentations, and visualizations.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and compliance to source, explore, and transform data assets.
• Interact directly with investment professionals to understand their discretionary process and provide data‑driven recommendations.

Required profile

• Undergraduate or advanced degree with strong academic performance.
• 1‑5 years of experience in equity, investment, scientific research, or consulting.
• Comfort with novel data sets and ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical partners.
• Excellent organizational, project‑management, and communication skills.
