Seasonal Tax Compliance Manager

About the role

Collective is seeking a Seasonal Tax Compliance Manager to join its Tax team during the busiest time of year. You will act as a trusted tax accountant for members, managing a portfolio while collaborating with tax leadership and junior staff to deliver a high‑quality tax experience.

Key responsibilities

• Understand clients’ financial backgrounds, identify optimization opportunities, and advise on tax strategies.
• Prepare, review, sign, and file federal and state tax returns, including Forms 1040 and 1120‑S.
• Support tax professionals with day‑to‑day tasks, mentor junior staff, and provide feedback.
• Manage competing priorities and tight deadlines throughout the tax season.
• Research and analyze tax laws, regulations, and policies; stay current on changes.
• Communicate tax updates and answers across the organization.
• Collaborate with leadership and other departments on complex tax issues.

Required profile

• Active CPA, EA, or JD in the state of residency.
• 3–5 years of experience preparing, signing, and filing returns (Forms 1040, 1120‑S); experience with Form 1065, Schedules C, E, SE is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage high volumes of returns and meet strict deadlines during tax season.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Exposure to multi‑state tax principles such as nexus, apportionment, and state allocations is a strong plus.
