Seasonal Sewing Machine Operator (Sewist)

About the role

Petite Plume is seeking a seasonal Sewing Machine Operator to support its busy holiday monogram production in the Richmond warehouse. The role is full‑time for the holiday peak, with overtime and possible weekend shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Operate commercial sewing machines efficiently, setting up thread and fabric for each job.
• Use industrial iron and steamer to finish garments.
• Perform quality control checks before and after production, ensuring precise stitching and correct monogram placement.
• Manage multiple monogram projects simultaneously while meeting daily production targets.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience as a sewing machine operator in a high‑capacity environment.
• Detail‑oriented with strong quality‑assurance focus.
• Reliable transportation and ability to work unsupervised.

What we offer

• Starting pay of $20 per hour (plus $1 per hour for second‑shift work).
• Temporary seasonal contract through the end of December with overtime during Black Friday to Cyber Monday.
