Seasonal Host (Part-Time) – San Diego

About the role

The Seasonal Host greets guests, manages reservations, handles phone inquiries, and ensures a memorable experience for visitors to Cutwater Spirits' tasting room.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests, provide menus, and escort them to their tables while engaging in conversation.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Cutwater’s spirits, canned cocktails, pricing, and menu items.
• Manage all reservations through Yelp, capturing guest contact details and special requests.
• Control the flow of walk‑ins and reservations to optimize service efficiency.
• Operate the Toast POS system to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Stock the host stand with menus, mask bags, and other supplies, notifying management of needs.
• Answer phone calls, respond to guest questions, and resolve complaints.
• Assist guests with retail purchases and to‑go alcohol orders.
• Clear dishes and glasses throughout the guest experience and support the team during busy periods.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in hospitality (hotel or restaurant preferred).
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Flexible availability, including nights and weekends.
• Positive attitude, punctuality, and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills, both oral and written.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Toast POS system.
• Experience using Yelp for reservation management.
