Seasonal Custom Applicator / Operations Specialist

About the role

CHS Inc. is seeking a Seasonal Custom Applicator/Operations Specialist to join its Clinton, MN team. You will work directly with farmers and ranchers, applying fertilizer and crop‑protection products while supporting sales and warehouse operations.

Key responsibilities

• Apply fertilizer and crop‑protection products using high‑clearance sprayers or floaters with limited supervision.
• Interact courteously with customers, educating them on application techniques and product benefits.
• Assist sales staff to ensure orders are accurate and customer needs are met.
• Operate loaders, forklifts, and other heavy‑duty equipment for loading/unloading railcars or trucks.
• Pick up and deliver agricultural inputs to customers as required.
• Perform general labor tasks such as equipment inspection, maintenance, grounds upkeep, and record keeping.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in agricultural production, operations, or application.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must meet DOT and company requirements; pre‑employment screenings may be required.
• Physical ability to lift and load up to 75 lb.

Required skills

• Operation of loaders, conveyors, tractors and track‑mobile equipment.
• Forklift operation and certification.
• CDL license (Hazmat endorsement preferred or attainable).
• Applicator’s license or chemical application training.
