Scrum Master - SAFe Environment

About the role

Amgen is looking for a Scrum Master to drive Agile execution and continuous improvement in Scaled Agile (SAFe) environments. The role acts as a servant leader, facilitating Agile ceremonies, coaching teams and enabling Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to deliver high-value solutions efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews and Inspect & Adapt sessions.
• Guide and support Agile teams, Product Owners and collaborators, and coach ART teams on SAFe methods and Lean-Agile principles.
• Facilitate PI Planning and ART synchronization, and remove organizational and technical impediments.
• Assist Product Owners and Business Owners with backlog management and prioritization.
• Drive SAFe Lean Portfolio Management, enable metrics tracking (Velocity, Flow Efficiency, Lead Time, Predictability) and promote DevOps and CI/CD adoption.
• Work with Release Train Engineers, Solution Architects and DevOps teams to optimize delivery pipelines.

Required profile

• Either a Master's degree with 1-3 years of experience, a Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years, or a Diploma with 7-9 years in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
• SAFe certification (SSM, SASM or RTE).
• Hands-on experience as a Scrum Master in Agile and SAFe environments, with experience in Agile Portfolio Management and Governance.
• Preferred: biotech/pharma domain experience, and CSM, PSM or SAFe Agilist certifications.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of SAFe, ARTs, Lean-Agile frameworks and Agile coaching.
• Proficiency in JIRA, Rally, Azure DevOps, Confluence and Miro.
• Knowledge of Lean Portfolio Management, flow-based work management, and DevOps, CI/CD and test automation.
• Strong communication, conflict resolution and mentoring skills.
