About the role

Ochsner is seeking a compassionate registered nurse to provide on‑site health services for students in a school setting. This PRN position focuses on delivering comprehensive nursing care, health education, and safety oversight to promote student well‑being. The role works closely with school staff, families, and community resources to ensure a healthy learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Administers nursing care within a school system.
• Uses the nursing process to deliver student care.
• Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies for students, families and staff.
• Ensures the health, comfort and safety of students.
• Provides health education and promotes wellness programs.
• Maintains accurate health records and documentation.
• Collaborates with school staff and families to address health concerns.
• Evaluates data to promote health outcomes and ensures compliance with regulations.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• No prior work experience required.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support certification.
