Scholarly Communication Librarian

About the role

The Scholarly Communication Librarian will lead the University of Arkansas at Little Rock’s efforts to support the full lifecycle of scholarly research. This newly created, 12‑month faculty appointment focuses on expanding the institutional repository, promoting open access, and enhancing the university’s research visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the adoption, growth, and strategic management of ScholarHub@UALittleRock, the university’s institutional repository.
• Advocate for open access and open education initiatives across campus.
• Collaborate with faculty and students to maximize the impact of scholarly outputs.
• Develop policies, workflows, and training programs related to scholarly communication.
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA‑accredited program.
• Eligibility for a 12‑month faculty appointment with rank leading to tenure.
• Understanding of scholarly communication, open access, and research data management.
